COE Generative Medicine Staff

Peter D'Adamo, ND, MIFHI
Distinguished Clinical Professor, UB Health Sciences
Director, COE Generative Medicine

"I am afraid that Peter's merits are not estimated enough in the scientific world. Therefore it seems to me necessary, not only to promote his concept here in Europe, but also to tell him that I acknowledge him as one of the most creative scientists in the Western world." ---Professor Gerhard Uhlenbruck, PhD, MD, Institute for Immunobiology at the University of Cologne

Peter D'Adamo is a naturopathic physician, author, researcher-educator, Ivesian, software developer and air-cooled enthusiast. He has an abiding interest in glycobiology, principally the ABO blood groups, the secretor (FUT2) polymorphisms and computer languages such as Perl (as applied to genomic and information systematics) , OWL/RDF (ontology and semantic languages), BioPAX, SBML, and ABM (agent based modeling) that can be applied to biomedical heuristics and other worthwhile dilemmas. Dr. D'Adamo teaches generative medicine and introduction to biochemical individuality at the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine and supervises a specialized clinic shift in personalized medicine.

Mitch Bebel Stargrove, ND, L.Ac. MIFHI
Fellow, COE Generative Medicine

Mitchell Bebel Stargrove, ND, LAc earned his BA in history and government from Oberlin College in 1979, his acupuncture diploma from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) in 1987 and his naturopathic degree from National College of Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM) in 1988. He teaches History of Medicine: at OCOM since 1990 and previously at NCNM (1990-1993). Dr. Stargrove is the editor and co-author of Herb, Nutrient, and Drug Interactions: Clinical Implications and Therapeutic Strategies (MosbyElsevier 2008).

He coordinated development of, and compiled the acupuncture section for, the Integrative BodyMind Information System (IBIS), the pioneering multidisciplinary electronic encyclopedia for practitioners of integrative medicine and natural therapeutics, and is Editor in Chief of InteractionsGuide and ChoicesForHealth. In addition, he is Chief Medical Officer of MedicineWorks.com, a division of Health Resources Unlimited, Inc., as well as a founder and board member of the Alchemical Medicine Research and Teaching Association (AMR'TA). Dr. Stargrove is lead history editor of and a contributor to the Foundations of Naturopathic Medicine textbook (Elsevier, in press).

Ginger Nash, ND, MIFHI

After meeting Dr. Peter D'Adamo, Dr. Nash immersed herself in the study of epigenetics and became a Master of the Institute for Human Individuality in 2007. The concept of personalized medicine had always been a cornerstone of her work with homeopathy and now the science of epigenetics dovetailed with that beautifully. Seeing patients along side Dr. D'Adamo has been a tremendous benefit to her understanding of nutrition and individuality.

Dr. Nash received a grant from the International Lyme and Associated Diseases (ILADS) Foundation to study the effects of tick borne illness on her patient population. She incorporates the best of naturopathic medicine with traditional medicine when treating Lyme disease and the potentially devastating effects of this endemic problem in Connecticut.

Dr. Nash taught at the University of Bridgeport's College of Naturopathic Medicine clinic for three years and continues to teach seminars and teleconferences for health care practitioners throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Barbara Siminovich-Blok, ND, L.Ac.MIFHI

Dr. Siminovich-Blok received her degree in Naturopathic Medicine from the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2009 and was the recipient of their annual Clinical Excellence Award. Prior to her doctoral studies, she earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, a MS in Biotechnology from the Univesidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, and a MS in Biochemistry from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. A native of Argentina, she is fluent in English, Spanish and French. Board certified in Connecticut, Dr. Siminovich-Blok is an adjunct professor of Biochemistry at the University of Bridgeport where she is presently completing work on a Masters in Acupuncture. She is currently serving a two-year residency in Integrative Medicine at Griffin Hospital and the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine, which includes a research assistantship at the Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center.
